7th Eurasphalt & Eurobitume Congress
This congress is organised jointly by the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) and Eurobitume. Originally scheduled to take place in Madrid May 2020 but due to the on-going health pandemic a decision was taken to postpone the congress to 2021. At the end of last year, it became apparent that to be absolutely certain to go ahead the only option available was to change the E&E Congress Madrid to a virtual platform.

Davide Lo Presti is the coordinator of the PAVEMENTLCM project supported by the Conference of European Road Directors to supporting European National Road Authorities to introduce sustainability at the core of their practices by adopting Life Cycle Management techniques through tailored training and a user-friendly package to support their widespread implementation. The project is coordinated by the University of Nottingham and carried out together with TNO, VTI and the University of Palermo.
Within this presentation at E&E, Dr Lo Presti will introduce the results of a survey amongst National Road Authorities (NRAs) from Europe, as well as California, to assess what is the current state of practice of introducing sustainability with NRAs. Furthermore, Dr Lo Presti will present the framework developed by the team to implement Sustainability Assessment in the road industry via creating synergy amongst Asphalt manufacturers, Asphalt Contractors and Road owners.
